Day 1: Antananarivo (Tana)
Reception at Ivato international airport by our representatives. Transfer at the hotel. Half boarding
and lodging.
Day 2: Tana – Antsirabe

Early morning departure for Antsirabe “Malagasy vichy water”. Travel trough the Imerina high plateau decorated by traditional houses. Break at Ambatolampy for lunch.We will continue the road after lunch. Get to Antsirabe in the afternoon. Walk around the town...Half boarding and lodging at the hotel “la Résidence Camélia”.

Day 3: Antsirabe – Ambositra
In the morning, you will visit some embroidery workshops, horn carving workshops, terse workshops.
Taking back the way to Ambositra, the capital city of Malagasy handcrafts where you will see nice and
attractive sculptures made of precious woods like rosewood. Bed and diner at Mania hotel.
Day 4: Ambositra – Beginning of the trekking

On the way to the region of Zafimaniry, passing through ricefields, forests of eucalyptus and Betsileo villages. After 1h30mn walk, we will get at the municipality of Antoetra. For getting at Vohibe, we will make a 5 hour trekking through the forest of eucalyptus and mimosas. Vohibe is a rocky land where Catholics have built a big cross. An extraordinary sight awaits you there before getting down on a granite flagstone to join the village of Sakaivo. We will spend night in bouviac. |
Day 5: Continuation of the trekking

After the breakfast, we will take the North East direction, starting with a way down to the rice fields at the bottom of valley, then, we will go up about 150m. Next, getting down to a pine-tree forest to join the village of Tetezandrotra. We could see craftsmen carving woods. Taking back the way for 1h walk before having our picnic. About 45mn walk after the picnic we will be at the village of Vohitrandriana. We will have a splendid sight of landscape and another aspect of Zafimaniry village. After, a visit of the village, we will take back our way to join the village of Faliarivo. For ending the day, we will get down at the bottom of a valley for sharing diner and spend night in bouviac in the village of Ankidodo.

Day 6: End of the trekking – Ambositra - Fianarantsoa

After the breakfast, we will go for a 6 hour walk. For that day, we will always keep on our way through mountains and valleys which are half naked due to the practice of tavy. We will go across typical villages particularly the village of Ifasina. After the picnic lunch, we will go on till Ambositra. And we will take a car for Fianarantsoa. Bed and diner at Zomatel.

Day 7: Fianarantsoa – Ranohira
Early departure for Ranohira. We will stop at Ambalavao to visit the Antemoro paper manufacture (papers on which wild flowers are stuck- it is a craftsman’s techniques, the same method used for Egyptian papyrus). Taking back the way, then, we will get at Southern part of Madagascar where you will have warm climate and see huge grassy savannah. Half boarding and lodging at Isalo Ranch hotel.

Day 8: Ranohira (Isalo)

Day for visiting the Isalo national park, you will be amazed by the natural shape of Jurassic sandstones. The erosion has carved deep canyons where strange shape of peaks bristle. This huge landscape is formed by grassy plain and stony desert. A botanical garden in a western-like scenery, the park is composed of fauna and flora particularly adapted to rocky steep slope. Picnic lunch to foresee. Back to the hotel at the end of the day. Half boarding and lodging at there. |
Day 9: Ranohira – Tuléar – Tana
Morning transfer at the airport of Tuléar for a flight to Tana. Reception at the airport and transfer at Ivotel.
Bed and diner at the hotel.
Day 10: Tana
Transfer to the airport.
End of service charges.
